Overcoming Tobacco Industry Interference to Achieve Sustainable Development Goals

Including the WHO Framework Convention on Tobacco Control (FCTC) in COVID-19 recovery responses will not only foster healthier people and economies, but also bring countries’ plans into alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The tobacco industry, however, is standing in the way.

Despite its best efforts to portray itself as a contributor to the SDGs, the tobacco industry is only a barrier to achieving these goals.
