Philip Morris International claims its science is “rigorous, robust, and transparent.” However, newly leaked documents suggest that Philip Morris International (PMI) and Philip Morris Japan (PMJ) covertly funded research in Japan through a third party and influenced the design of the study. The documents also show that the tobacco company may have been attempting to conceal its activities internally and externally.
