FreedomWorks is a U.S. libertarian think tank, initially founded as ‘Citizens for a Sound Economy’ in 1984. It has publicly opposed tobacco taxes, lobbied in favor of the introduction of IQOS, and opposed the FDA menthol cigarette ban in the U.S. It does not reveal its donors but reportedly received funding from Philip Morris International in the past.
